Joachim Sokolski was born in 1946 in Warsaw. In the years 1966-1972 he studied at the Faculty of Interior Design at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Sokólski was an outstanding creator of artistic, unique jewelry. The artist in the years 1973-1985 participated in over one hundred individual and group exhibitions at homeland and abroad.
The work of Joachim Sokólski was inspired by simple, traditional forms of jewelery typical for Polish avant-garde of the 70s of the twentieth century. Few of his works were decorated with Polish amber. These works then were commercial in nature.
Joachim Sokolski was the founder of the studio which produced the products with amber and it was one of the first capital companies in the final years of communist Poland with foreign capital. The company Sokólski tied with Robert Rontalerem - a renowned English merchant of amber for many years, promoting the Polish amber market in the UK.
Sokólski was creatively active for nearly 40 years of artistic life. He died in 2008.
